Kyle Orton, who was traded this off-season with plenty of draft picks to the Broncos for Jay Cutler, had a poor performance in his debut.
Orton was 9-16 for 89 yards, but threw three interceptions for a QB rating of 32.6.
Orton threw his first interception on the first drive in the red zone and then threw two more interceptions in the game. Meanwhile, backup Chris Simms looked sharp, throwing two touchdowns in his short time in the game.
Orton should be worried because Coach McDaniels named him the starter, but he can easily take it away from him and put in Chris Simms.
Look for Simms to get the start next week just to see what they can get out of him.
I hope the best for Kyle Orton in Denver, but it looks to me that he might not get that starting gig. He’s going to have to step it up a notch to show the coach he deserves the starting job.
Good luck Kyle Orton. Don’t get me wrong I’m really glad the Bears have Jay Cutler, but before Kyle Orton got injured he was a solid quarterback. I hope he shows his best for a rebuilding Broncos team.
