76784577According to Brad Biggs of the National Football Post, the Bears looked at bringing back veteran DT Alfonso Boone.

Boone, who played for the Bears from 2000-2006, where he played in 83 games, recording 109 tackles and 10.5 sacks was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. The 33 year old defensive lineman was offered a contract in 2007 by the Bears, but decided to go to Kansas City, where they offered him more money. Boone played in 30 games, recording 44 tackles and two sacks in his two years with the Chiefs.

The Oakland Raiders looked to be the team, who will most likely offer the nine year veteran a contract, but the Carolina Panthers have also had some interest.

I wish the Bears hung on to Alfonso Boone, he was a hard worker. I hope he does well with the Raiders, if that’s where he signs, but if not I’m sure the Bears would love to have him back.
