b41e9f4fb96186d150700203256e155_featureThe Bears have announced the signing of free-agent linebacker Tim Shaw.

Shaw is a 6’1″, 236 pounder, is entering his third season in the NFL. He was a fifth round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2007, out of Penn State University.

He played for Jacksonville last season and was released by them two weeks ago.

He’s played in 17 games in two seasons, recording 17 tackles.

The Bears want him to replace Hunter Hillenmeyer’s role on special teams because they are set to start Hunter Hillenmeyer and Nick Roach next to Lance Briggs. Shaw is nothing more than a special teams player.

Reports on linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa got hurt in last nights game as well. I’ve heard updates like day to day, out for a month or even out for a couple weeks, will find out soon what his status is.
