The Bears are 3-2 after the bye week under coach Lovie Smith. They lost following their week off in his first two seasons, to the Redskins 13-10 in 2004 and Browns 20-10 in 2005. But they’ve won after their bye week each of the past three years, beating the 49ers 41-10 in 2006, Raiders 17-6 in 2007 and Lions 27-23 in 2008.
