To make room on the 53 man roster for newly acquired DE Gaines Adams, the Bears released veteran TE Michael Gaines. Gaines was only active for two games this season and made the roster this off-season as the fourth tight end after signing a one-year deal. Gaines is considering a very good blocking tight end and when Dez Clark was injured Gaines was active on game days.
Teams that might pickup Gaines are Cleveland, Arizona, Buffalo and Miami.
