Minnesota Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who scored the only touchdown for Minnesota last night spoke up about the Green Bay Packers today. Since this is a nice NFC North story lets hear what the Vikings TE had to say about the highly discussed Packers.

Here’s what Shiancoe had to say:

“You’ve got to watch a team like the Packers — they’re the new Cowboys, everybody’s jumping on their jock, like they’ve actually gone to the Super Bowl, and won it. Give them credit. They did good in the preseason. I mean, good. Good job. That’s good stuff.”

“You know what, Philly’s defense is pretty good, too, it always is. We’ll see how [the Packers] fare against them.”

My Thoughts:

I totally agree with Shiancoe. As much as I despise him and the Vikings, it does seem that the Packers are very overrated coming in to this season. The Packers receivers are pretty ordinary, Donald Driver is old, Greg Jennings isn’t great and Jermichael Finley shouldn’t be known as a top ten tight end in the NFL. Also, Ryan Grant doesn’t provide that much in the running game.

The quarterback though is as good as people say. I saw him pick apart the Bears two years ago at Solider Field.

Does this team have what it takes to win the NFC North? Yes, but are they really that much better than the Vikings or the Bears. I don’t really think so. We’ll just have to wait and see who really is the best NFC North team.
