Former Bears Adewale Ogunleye and Nathan Vasher have signed with teams. Adewale Ogunleye found a home in Houston where they lost the staring DE opposite Mario Williams, Connor Barwin. Barwin dislocated his right ankle.

The Texans also added veteran DE Ryan Denney, who will split time with Ogunleye across from Mario Williams.

Nathan Vasher used to be known as the “Interceptor” signed with the Chargers this off-season, but they let him go and yesterday he signed with the Detroit Lions.

Vasher will replace starter Aaron Berry, who was lost for the season with a right shoulder injury. Vasher will likely see time against the Eagles.

Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer has been put on injured reserve. Hillenmeyer sustained a concussion in preseason and he was removed from Sunday’s game because he became ill. Losing Hillenmeyer hurts the depth of the team, he was the primary backup to Brian Urlacher.

The Bears added former Bills LB Marcus Buggs to the practice squad and to fill his spot they released WR Greg Matthews.

The Bears added LB Rod Wilson to the 53 man roster to take Hunter Hillenmeyer’s spot.

Josh Beekman tried out with Seahawks because of they are dealing with a number of injuries on the offensive line. Beekman was one of three players who worked out for Seattle yesterday.

Bears RB Matt Forte earned the NFC player of the week with his 201 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Forte is the first Bears running back to win the the weekly award since Anthony Thomas in 2001.
