Jay Cutler and company looked awful tonight. The offensive line was in disarray and allowed the Giants pass rush to get after Cutler consistently. They allowed Cutler to get sacked nine times in the first half. Cutler went out with a concussion at the end of the first half and did not return.
Todd Collins came in and looked just as pathetic, then he went out with an injury. Third string QB Caleb Hanie had to come in the game, but the game was already out of reach at 17-3.
The Bears had a total of 110 yards in the game and did not convert a single third down, they were zero for 13. They averaged 1.4 yards per pass, no one can win a game with those kinds of stats.
At the half the game was 3-0 Giants and both teams played equally bad. The Giants came out in the second half and just pounded the ball. The Giants clearly made major adjustments.
As bad as the Bears played and they played bad they still had a chance in this game.
This is a wake up call for the Bears and next week against the Panthers could be rough.
This team might be tough to watch if they continue to play this bad. The offensive line must be changed around, Chris Williams is needed back in the lineup because this line looked worse than a high school team tonight.
It’s not that the Giants were that good, it was that the Bears were that bad.
Good luck Lovie and company this could be the end of your time in Chicago.
