According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Bears DE Julius Peppers has been named NFC defensive player of the week.
This is what Biggs had to say:
“Julius Peppers has been named the NFC’s defensive player of the week for his effort in the Bears’ 16-0 victory at Miami last Thursday.
It was the Bears’ first shutout in four seasons and Peppers tied a career-high with three sacks of Dolphins quarterback Tyler Thigpen.
It was the eighth time in his career that he had three sacks in a game.
Peppers also deflected a pass at the line of scrimmage that cornerback Charles Tillman intercepted.”
