Bears running back Matt Forte isn’t the only one who thinks QB Jay Cutler needs to put his last game in the past.
Matt Forte had a lot to talk about yesterday on the Carmen, Jurko & Harry radio show on ESPN 1000.
He touched on everything this off-season from workouts, contract issues and his advice for QB Jay Cutler.
Here’s what he had to say.
On what he thinks Jay Cutler must do to forget the NFC Championship game:
“What he has to do is forget what happened, and I think he already has,” Forte said Thursday on the “Carmen, Jurko & Harry” radio show on ESPN 1000. “Just seeing him out when we were running routes, he’s 100 percent throwing the ball just like he’s always done, taking drops and looks very good. So he has to forget about what happened, and continue to play at that high level he was at winning all those games last year. I think he’s going to come out and do that.”
On keeping contact with the team:
“We had a lot of contact,” Forte said. “The weather is crazy up here, but once it finally got good enough to where we can go and safely run routes and catch the ball, we got together multiple times every week. Everybody from the skill positions was there catching balls and running routes. So I think it was a really good thing that he got everyone together.”
On a possible contract extension:
“My agent is handling that, and he’s in talks with the Bears people,” Forte said. “Look at the stats over the last three years, and I’m among the top five running backs in all-purpose yards and touchdowns and all that stuff. So hopefully we can do something.”

i like jay cutler, but i believe i would have to have been dragged off the field that last game, the money they pay me to win, not give up. i think he has to grow up, man up. the offense wasn`t great ,but you have to play like a winner, likejohn elway did. unless he changes , he will never be remembered as one of the best!
He will never be remembered as one of the best? The guy played with the worst offensive line I’ve seen in years giving up a league 52 sacks. The guy was beaten and bruised. The person at fault is the person running the stadium, by not announcing the injury no one inside the stadium had any clue what was wrong with him. You get up get a beer and all of a sudden the nightmare Todd Collins has entered the game. Scary thought.
Anyways Cutler has plenty of time to rebound from this incident, the media loves jumping on him. Another year in Mike Martz’s offense with the same receivers gelling, trust me this offense will be very improved.
