Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 5-2 all-time against the Bears, but he clearly doesn’t understand the rivalry between the two NFC North teams.
‘‘I enjoy a number of the guys on the [Bears] and have worked out with Charles [Tillman],’’ Rodgers said. ‘‘I have a lot of respect for the defensive guys we play against — Lance [Briggs] and Brian[Urlacher] and Julius [Peppers] and Charles obviously. It’s been a great rivalry for the game for a long, long time. It’s an honor to carry on the tradition. But I don’t think there’s a lot of hatred [between the teams]. But there’s definitely lot of competitive guys that want to win.’
Going 2-1 against the Bears and beating them in Week 17 to advance to playoffs as the sixth seed helped the Packers get to the NFC Championship and defeat the Bears at Soldier Field.
Bears fans aren’t supporters of anything green and gold, so expect a lot of boos when the Super Bowl champion Packers take the field on Sunday in Chicago.
Rodgers will likely feel the rivalry on Sunday, the Bears need this game badly to regain some kind of hope in Chicago.
