Bears running back Matt Forte is trying to get back on the field as soon as he can.
According to Fred Mitchell of the Chicago Tribune, Tuesday morning Forte received a Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to try to speed up the healing process.
If the procedure helps Forte, he will likely be back for the Christmas meeting against the perfect Packers or for the season finale against Minnesota.
“I feel all right. I’ve got good range of motion,” Forte said to the Chicago Tribune. “I’m here, standing up and walking around, so obviously that’s good. MCL’s usually don’t take a whole lot of time to get back. But it does vary from two to as long as six weeks. I don’t want to make any predictions because I really don’t know. I got a PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injection this morning that is supposed to make it heal up faster. I’m just going to take it from there.”
Forte has 1,487 yards rushing and receiving this season.
With, Forte out Marion Barber and Kahlil Bell will take over the reigns at running back.
Undrafted rookie Armando Allen could be active for the first time this Sunday as well.
