Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher hasn’t practiced since Tuesday, July 31.
Urlacher won’t suit up in the first preseason game Thursday against the Broncos. LB Nick Roach will take his place in the middle for the time being.
Head coach Lovie Smith made it clear that the Bears will take their time with Urlacher’s left knee. There is no need to rush the Bears defensive star back.
When he returns to the field remains to be seen, but the Bears want to make sure is 100% healthy for the regular season home opener against rookie QB Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.
Urlacher has always been someone who scares fans off the field with his size and attitude. He appeared in a commercial for Comcast Xfinity recently promoting their football package.
The commercial is pretty entertaining. It bashes DirecTV’s prices and the Deion Sanders fairy character that has been used in their recent NFL Sunday Ticket commercials.
Enjoy.
