After suffering a neck injury on a big hit by Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffin in the second quarter of Sunday’s game you could tell Chicago Bears’ quaterback Jay Cutler wasn’t comfortable.
He battled through a neck injury in the game, but was eventually taken out of action on the Bears final drive down 21-7.
Jason Campbell relieved him at quarterback and tossed a touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall to make the game 21-14.
The Bears failed to recover the onside kick and the rest was history.
After the game, Cutler had this to say regarding the injury.
“It was neck related,” he said via ESPNChicago.com. “I was getting spasms. I wasn’t going to help anybody being out there.”
However on “The Jay Cutler Show” on Monday on ESPN 1000 he was confident he would suit up on Sunday against the first place Green Bay Packers.
“I don’t see why not. I don’t have anything else to do,” Cutler said on “The Jay Cutler Show” on ESPN1000.
He also touched on his relationship with Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“Me and Aaron are certainly not best friends.” When asked who is his best friend was, he said “Kristin is my BFF.”
On whether he will in fact be under center on Sunday.
“Unless something drastic happens. Absolutely.”
Cutler gives the Bears a chance to win games week in and week out.
This is a huge game for the Bears and Cutler won’t miss it if he can control it.
The Green Bay Packers against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field to decide the division. It doesn’t get much better than that.
